WhatsApp Messenger experienced a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 865K in late December 2021 and peaking at around 1.6M by the end of March 2022. The app also saw a steady rise in weekly active users, growing from 177.2M to nearly 180.9M throughout the quarter.
Telegram had a varied download trend, starting with about 528K downloads in late December 2021 and reaching a peak of approximately 896K in mid-March, before settling at around 717K by the end of the quarter. The weekly active users for Telegram saw an initial increase from 20.2M to 22.6M by late January, followed by fluctuations, ending at around 21.6M at the close of March.

The app’s weekly active users, however, saw a slight decline from 63.8M at the start of the quarter to around 60.1M by the end of March. The app also generated a modest weekly revenue, peaking at $360 in late January.
